Crosby's Reimbursement Account Portal User Enhancements

Changes Are Now Here


We are pleased to announce the rollout of our new Reimbursement Portal design. The new features, based on your feedback, are targeted to improve functionality and usability.


Below is a summary of the key changes and an image of the new Home screen:


1. New color scheme and workflow design.

 

2. A Last Known Login date/time stamp will be added to the top right of each screen.


3. User links will be grouped together on the Home screen:


Enter New Claim

Enter Help Tickets

Order Debit Card (if applicable)
 

4. Claims Activity and Debit Card Transactions (if applicable) will be combined into one

"Manage Claims and Card Transactions" link.

 
5. The Claims screen will display multiple sub-tabs (based on plan design) including:
 

Claims needing receipts for debit card transactions (if applicable) and Online claims

Processed claims

 

6. In addition to the current ordering options on the Profile screen, the Home screen will have a link to order new Debit Cards for employees or their dependents and to report lost or stolen cards (if applicable).

Vouchers No Longer Accepted on LIRR & MNR After June 30th

Recent Developments Related To Your FSA

In February, the IRS reversed its position on breast pumps and supplies that assist in lactation? These items are now eligible for reimbursement through Flexible Spending Accounts IRS Ruling 2011-14. Crosby has made the necessary changes to processing rules and updated the CrosbyBenefits.com list of eligible medical expenses.
 

There is a difference between a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) and a Doctor's Prescription? Some items eligible for reimbursement under a Medical FSA require a Letter of Medical Necessity (or a Medical Practitioner's Note) while others require a Doctor's Prescription. An LMN is a letter that explains the medical need for various medical services (click here for more information) while a Doctor's Prescription is generally an order from a physician that prescribes medicines or drugs. When submitting receipts for an FSA claim, one or both of these notices may be required for approved.

Proposed legislation was recently introduced in the US Senate to eliminate the rule that many over-the-counter (OTC) items must be prescribed by a doctor in order for them to be eligible for reimbursement through an FSA, HRA or HSA? The proposed bill would also eliminate the $2,500 FSA maximum, set to become effective on January 1, 2013. We will keep you posted as information develops.

In determining the amount of the Dependent Care Tax Credit, for taxable years beginning after 2002 and before 2011, a taxpayer may take into account $3,000 of employment-related expenses for one qualifying individual and $6,000 for two or more qualifying individuals? For taxable years beginning after 2010, the limits will change to $2,400 for one qualifying individual and $4,800 for two or more qualifying individuals.

Depending on the taxpayer's adjusted gross income (AGI), the taxpayer may receive a tax credit ranging from 20% - 35% of eligible employment-related expenses for taxable years beginning after 2002 and before 2011, and from 20% - 30% of eligible employment-related expenses for taxable years beginning after 2010.
